OH,YOU CAN'T GET TO HEAVEN IN A LIMOUSINE!

Oh, you can't get to heaven in a limousine was a favorite song on the schools field trips when  I was young. It had many verses and was not written down anywhere and nobody knows the author. It has a funny way of thinking about a trip to heaven and some real good suggestion to think about in the times we live in today. So here is the song verse by verse as it was sung on the school bus.

Oh, you can't get to heaven in a limousine
cause the Lord doesn't sell any gasoline
ain't gonna grieve the Lord no more

Oh, you can't get to heaven in rocking chair
cause the Lord doesn't allow any lazy folks there
ain't gonna grieve the Lord no more

Oh, you can't get to heaven on a pair of skis
cause you ski right through St Peter's  knees
ain't gonna grieve the Lord no more

Oh, you can't get to heaven by doing good deeds
cause the Lord doesn't pay the fees
ain't gonna grieve the Lord no more

Oh, you can't get to heaven on roller skates
cause you roll right through the pearly gates
ain't gonna grieve the Lord no more

Oh, you can get to heaven in a motor car
cause without gas it won't take you far
ain't gonna grieve the Lord no more

Oh, if you get to heaven before I do
just punch a hole and pull me through
ain't gonna grieve the Lord no more

oh, you can't get heaven on a frosty fleet bus
cause the kids on board make to much fuss
ain't gonna grieve the Lord no more

I hope you enjoyed this flashback to the song from the days of the past on the bus on the field trips in the 1960's.Every verse was repeated as an echo effect as the children sang it.One would start the first part of the verse and the repeating was the answer why you can't get to heaven by the other children and then all would sing the whole verse
together and end with "ain't gonna grieve the Lord no more."
